Magda grew up in Bayside Melbourne and attended Star of the Sea and MacRobertson Girls High School. Magda then studied dentistry at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2000 with honours and receiving the medal for excellence in removable prosthodontics (dentures). Whilst studying, Magda also won a scholarship with Rotary to travel to Vietnam where she worked with the Australian Rotary Dental Team.
Magda then gained extensive experience in private practices in Perth and Sydney before moving to England to further her dental experience and travel widely. Magda has completed further study whilst in the UK with the prestigious British Society of Occlusal Studies, gaining advanced skills in treating bite and jaw joint problems. Magda has a number of special interests in dentistry – she loves treating children and helping anxious patients overcome their fears. Magda also has a passion for cosmetic dentistry, having completed continuing education in the USA with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Magda is married to Mike and lives locally with their three children Oliver, Lucy and Hugo.

Mike established Bayside Smiles in 2006 in conjunction with his wife and fellow dentist Magda. Mike graduated from Sydney University in 2000 with Honours, receiving the R Morse Withycombe Prize for Proficiency in Clinical Periodontics (gum treatment). Mike worked throughout Australia and the UK gaining a broad range of experiences and knowledge, including active service in the Royal Australian Navy in the Persian Gulf.
Having now established his own practice, Mike’s goal is to provide high quality, long-term dental care to his patients over the next 20 years. Mike strives to provide a modern, holistic approach that is tailored to each individual’s requirements. His focus is on being thorough and meticulous whilst being caring and compassionate.
Mike is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS), Australian Society for Occlusal Studies (ASOS), Australian Prosthodontic Society (APS) and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Mike lives locally and has three young children Oliver, Lucy and Hugo.
Dr Mihir Hargovan

Born and raised in Melbourne, Mihir graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2011. After completing his studies, Mihir moved to regional Victoria where he has had extensive experience in both public and private dental practice. In 2013 he was appointed as a senior dentist at Goulburn Valley Health and lecturer at the University of Melbourne where his role was to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to final year Dental students.
Since then, he has spent his time in private general practice in Shepparton. Although he is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry, he has a special interest in Prosthodontics, and is currently completing the final year of a Masters in Clinical Dentistry at the prestigious King’s College in London. He finds it especially rewarding to restore function and dental health in individuals suffering from the detrimental effects extensive tooth wear or broken down dentitions.
He always aims to treat his patients with empathy and understanding whilst striving to provide the highest quality, evidence based care.
He is an enthusiastic supporter of the profession and was the inaugural treasurer of the Australian Dental Association’s Goulburn Valley Group.
In his spare time you will find him on the golf course or supporting his beloved Hawks. He also loves to travel the world and exploring all of its culinary delights with his wife Shashwati.
Dr Carolina Oliveira

Dr Carolina Oliveira previously known as Carolina “Donadio” graduated in 2005 with a Doctor in Dental Science Degree and in 2009 completed her Post Graduation degree in Prosthodontics. She completed both her graduate and post- graduate in Sao Paulo, her home city in Brazil and is certified to practice in Australia as a General Dentist by the Australian Dental Council.
Carolina moved to Melbourne in 2011. She instantly fell in love with Melbourne and has called it home since.
Carolina has a holistic approach when treating her patients, caring for their well-being as the first most important consideration when treatment planning. She loves educating patients and offering them a multidisciplinary treatment to help them achieve not only a confident smile, but also improve their general well-being.
Her main areas of interest are full mouth rehabilitation, occlusion (achieving a harmonious bite) and cosmetic dentistry. This combination enables her to provide to her patients the beauty of ceramic crowns, onlays and veneers, while never forgetting the function and importance of the mechanism of the bite, chewing muscles and jaw joint function and equilibrium.
Most recently, Carolina became a member of DSD (Digital Smile Design) and proudly delivers the cosmetic results patients have dreamed of, with carefully and precisely planned, multidisciplinary treatments to help patients achieve aesthetic harmony between their new smile and overall facial appearance.
